He Who Dares are a exciting four piece
alternative indie rock band from Maidstone/Sittingbourne. Formed in 2006, the
band immediately started writing their own material, taking their combined
influences from the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Muse and Jimi
Hendrix.
The
results of this time spent writing was the
bands first demo EP, recorded in March 2008.
8 tracks were recorded in total, including
what were to become fan favourite tracks;
'Missing Pieces', 'Point Of No Return' and
'Now That I've Found Love', with the later
being a frequent end of set song.
The band is an up and coming act on the Kent gig scene, receiving very positive reviews
wherever they have played, and recently played their first gigs in Central London,
as well as getting radio play for a number
of tracks.
He Who Dares have also had great success building
a fan base on the internet, with their song ‘Now That I’ve Found Love’ staying
inside the Top 30 Chart on leading unsigned band site www.bandsunsigned.co.uk
for over 6 months.
In
December 2008 the band came 2nd out of 32
of Kent's finest unsigned band's in the
Maidstone Zebra Bar Supreme Battle of the
Bands competition, with over 320 people
attending the final round.
In May 2009 the
band released their second demo EP, containing
the three tracks, 'Histrionics', 'Irresolution'
and 'Just Won't Stop'. Recorded at NSP Studios
in Maidstone, the three tracks showcase
the progression in the band's songwriting.
The
band aim to continue to gig regularly throughout
2009, while continuing to write new material.
